Sweaty Feet Fix

Sweating is good. It's the body's way of regulating heat and cooling off the body. It's natural, but that doesn't mean it's appealing...or comfortable. The feet have 250,000 sweat glands and can produce as much as eight ounces of sweat daily. Sweaty feet need special attention because if not taken care of risks like slipping, odor, and athlete's foot, can occur. To protect your sweating soles, try one of these natural remedies:
  • Soak feet in cooled brewed black tea for 20 minutes levels the skin's pH and reduces bacteria. (via Yoga Journal)
  • Soak feet in a mixture of apple cider vinegar and water to reduce sweating. (via LiveStrong)
  • For sweating feet during barefoot fitness, wear socks with grip to preserve a natural feeling, prevent slipping, and reduce spreading of bacteria and germs on the floor and equipment.
  • For sweating feet while wearing athletic shoes, be sure to choose sport socks that have a moisture wicking component. Synthetic fibers draw moisture away from the skin's surface to better keep feet dry.
  • Remove dirt and bacteria after working out by cleansing the feet. After rinsing, be sure to dry feet thoroughly to avoid any traces of moisture to avoid fungus from developing.
